That is what Jamie named is Jack-o-lantern! This evening we went with my MOPS group to Brad's Farm. We had a hayride out to the pumpkin patch and Jamie pretty much picked the first pumpkin he saw. It was pretty small, but I wasn't surprised since everything these days has to be "teeny-tiny" as far as Jamie is concerned. It was much too small to carve so Daddy picked another one before we left. We had a fantastic time carving our pumpkin and roasting seeds!

I love this camera. You can see in the previous pictures how dark it was outside. But in this one I didn't use the flash and Timmy and Jamie were able to stay still so it wasn't blurry! Look at that full moon!!! |
We started a little tradition this year by reading "The Pumpkin Patch Parable" before we carved our pumpkin. The forward reads... "This book is NOT a celebration of Halloween...no ghosts, goblins, demons, witches or monsters here! ... I wanted to offer an alternative message for kids each autumn, something wholesome, positive and encouraging. Since the Lord Himself created pumpkins, it seemed appropriate to redeem this familiar symbol of the harvest season for His good purpose." Ok so , no I'm not totally anti-Halloween, but it is definitely not my favorite. Yes, Jamie will dress and up and go trick-or-treating, but I am not a fan of the "ick" Halloween can be.

I am so thankful for my little family. These small moments are my absolute favorite part of life. Praise Jesus!
